Sips, eats and beats on Melbourne’s coolest new rooftop bar.

Melbourne’s Favourite New Sunday Session

Melbourne’s hottest new Sunday Session has kicked off on The Roof Garden at Flemington.

For three Sundays in February, The Roof Garden, a gorgeous deck at the top of the new VRC members’ Club Stand, will be opened for everyone to enjoy.

The first of the three Sunday Sessions kicked off this past weekend, with the crowd loving the chilled vibe and awesome views of Flemington Racecourse and the Melbourne city skyline.

It was a hot afternoon but everyone was more than comfortable relaxing under striped umbrellas and feeling the breeze way up high on level four of The Club Stand.

The cocktail jugs went down a treat while the kitchen was busy serving up wood-fired flatbreads and snap fried calamari. Read more about the food and drinks on offer here.

While there was no action on the track, Dena Amy was on the decks. The South African-born, Australian-raised DJ has recently played at Beyond The Valley, FOMO!, Your Paradise and Coachella.

If you’re planning to come this Sunday, don’t miss happy hour from 12noon-2pm with $6 glasses of Seppelt sparkling, $6 schooners of Furphy Ale and $8 schooners of James Squire One Fifty Lashes Pale Ale and Kirin.

This is a relaxed way to experience Flemington so forget suits, ties and fascinators. But thongs, workwear or beachwear are a no-go. We’re keeping it casual for Sunday, but not that casual!

And if you’re wondering how to get to Flemington, there’s a free shuttle bus running between Newmarket Train Station and The Club Stand from 12pm-8pm. Just wait in the Woolworths Carpark adjacent to the station for the bus to make the round trip.

No bookings or tickets are required and you don’t need to be a VRC member, just come along with your mates and enjoy the chilled vibe. Open from 12pm-8pm Sunday 10th and 17th February. Find out more info here.
